50-Minute Individual Therapy Session, $225
Accepting Clients in Maryland, Washington, DC, and Texas
Like most specialty providers, I do not participate in any insurance plans. Paying out-of-pocket can be a good option for people who want maximum privacy, confidentiality, and flexibility.

If you have out-of-network mental health benefits, you may be able to use that coverage to get reimbursed for a portion of your session fee. You will be responsible for full payment at the time of service. I will provide a monthly superbill that you can submit to your insurance for reimbursement.

Each insurance provider is different. These are questions to ask your insurance company to learn about your out-of-network benefits:
Do I have out-of-network outpatient mental health benefits? Am I able to use these benefits for telehealth?
Is authorization required to use my benefits?
What is my out-of-network deductible?
How much of my out-of-network deductible has been met this year?
Do I need a referral from an in-network provider to see someone out-of-network?
What is my out-of-network coinsurance for outpatient mental health visits?
What is the maximum allowable amount for an outpatient mental health visit under:
CPT code 90791-95 (Virtual intake session 50 minutes)?
CPT code 90834-95 (Virtual psychotherapy session up to 45 minutes)?
CPT code 90837-95 (Virtual psychotherapy session up to 60 minutes)?
What percentage of the maximum allowable amount is covered per session?
Do I need authorization for CPT codes 90791-95, 90834-95, or 90837-95?
How do I submit claims for out-of-network reimbursement?
How long does it take for me to receive reimbursement?
-
You would pay me in full after each session, and I would provide you with a monthly superbill (like a receipt) for you to submit to your insurance. Once you reach your out-of-network deductible, your insurance company will begin to reimburse you a percentage of my fee. The percentage they reimburse you is based on their maximum allowable amount.
For example, if your insurance’s maximum allowable amount for a session is $150, and they reimburse you for 70%, then you would be reimbursed $105 per session. So, after insurance reimbursement, your out-of-pocket cost for a $225 session would be $120.
It is important that you contact your insurance company to make sure you understand your benefits for out-of-network providers. As much as possible, I don’t want you to feel surprised by anything related to fees and insurance.

No, therapists can only provide services in the states they are licensed. I am only licensed to work with residents of Maryland, Washington, DC, and Texas. You must live in one of these states in order for us to work together.
-
Before scheduling a therapy session, I do a free 15-minute intro call with all potential new clients. This gives us the chance to get to know each other. Here’s what you can expect:
• I’ll ask you about why you’re seeking therapy
• I’ll tell you a bit about myself and my approach as a therapist
• You can ask me any questions that I didn’t cover
• We’ll talk about rates, insurance, availability, etc.
-
If we both decide we're a good fit after our intro call, we'll schedule our first therapy appointment. I'll send you a couple of forms to complete before our first session.
-
During our first few sessions, we’ll begin to explore what brought you to therapy, and what you hope to accomplish in our work together. We’ll also focus on helping you find some relief in the here and now from the suffering that brought you to therapy.
-
I typically meet with clients weekly. I may recommend that we increase or decrease the frequency of sessions to best meet your needs.
